I love that 2 tone color. I like everything about that combo except the cuts in the side of the slide but its not mine so that doesn't matter....nice work! I agree they blew it with those odd cuts, everything else is Great Maybe someone could enlighten me on the bobtail? It looks like some years ago someone droped one ..dented in the grip & they thought: Wow that looks cool? Never have cared for that, just wondering WHY? One thing I really love about it, is the scales look. very cool, looks kinda like what Kimber did with the Raptor which is going to be my next 1911. The bobtail takes out the point of the grip that sticks out the most when carrying. Its a CCDW thing. |

Well, at least two folks like the flutes in the sides of the slide..........me and the fella that bought the gun. Thanks for the nice comments. Here is the work list which should answer any questions: Colt's 1991-A1 Commander 45acp #CJ143XX: Fit slide to frame. Match grade. Kart match barrel. Flush cut and match crowned. EGW bushing and recoil spring plug. Angle cut spring plug and lower portion of slide. Golfball pattern on spring plug. Relieve forward sides of slide. Browning Hi-Power style. Ball cuts. Flatten and golfball top of slide. Double arrowhead pattern. Rogers' Tier One front sight with green Trijicon lamp with white outline. Rogers' Tier One rear sight with yellow Trijicon lamps with no white outlines. Surface grind sides of slide to remove rollmarks. Remachine rear cocking serrations. Machine flutes in sides of slide. Machine bevel bottom of slide at 30 degrees. Fabricate and install stainless steel feed ramp insert. Rework ejection port. Fabricate and fit extended ejector. EGW oversized firing pin stop with small radius. 2 Wilson match extractors. Fitted and golfballed to match rear of slide. Golfball rear of slide and frame. Barstock plunger tube. Permanently affixed. Brown's thumb safety. Custom contoured, small profile. Brown's 'hardcore' slide stop. Recontoured and golfballed. Bevel slide stop hole in frame. Shorten and radius shaft of slide stop. Brown's grip safety. Custom contoured. Extended magazine release. Angled and golfballed. Wilson match grade hammer. Wilson match grade sear. Greider medium length trigger. Internally lightened. Trigger job 3 3/4 lbs. Bobtail conversion on frame. Golfball bobtail mainspring housing. Bevel magazine well at 15 degrees. High cut and golfball frontstrap. Carry bevel package. Davidson slim profile G10 grips. Hex head grip screws. Wolff springs throughout. Two CMC 8rd. Powermags. Finished to match the gun. Manganese phosphate and Cerakote. Graphite Black slide.
