Ive had two other rock islands...  Sold them both and regretted it... Been looking for a CS Tactical.. The price was right on this one, so I took it..   Next I want a full size tactical, or maybe a kimber warrior..

That is what I have been wanting but I wanted some more info. Give us a report after you shoot it. If you are in Lex, IM me and I would be happy to take you to the range to break it in.

Can you entertain this question?

I noticed that RIA cuts their front dovetail real deep. If you remove the front bushing, does the dovetail cut straight through into the slide bore?

Another guy around here wants to replace the sights on his RIA and asked if it is a do it yourself kinda job. If the RIA dovetail is so deep that it runs into the slidebore, the only solution is to send the RIA factory sight for modification as aftermarket sight won't fit.

No it doesn't go all the way through on my tactical.  I had the front sight out of the dovetail this morning.  Mine shoots low for my tastes so I filed down the front sight a little.  I'm not sure how to measure the thickness of the metal under the dovetail is but it doesn't go through.  David

concur.. I just looked at mine, and it does not go all the way through the slide..  Mine however has no bushing.. Its a bull barrel..  I can not comment on the full size..
