Hi, hoping for some help identifying a 1911A1 I found in my wife's late grandfather's gun collection. There doesn't seem to be any manufacture's identification on the lower receiver. Remington name is on the slide. Thank you in advance.

I'm not an expert but it looks like a USGI Remington.

This.

It's lost it's collectability as an original, so price is about half what you would have gotten in its original condition. Still worth a little modified. You can also contact Bill Adair or Turnbull and consider throwing a few hundred restoring it if you want to hang on to it.

What are your plans for that pistol?

The slide has been reblued but the lower is in perfect condition with 95% of the original Park finish. Thanks for the help everyone. I've always wanted a old fashioned 1911 and will definitely keep this one. I'll look for a Remington Rand slide with original finish and will grab it if I run into it. Or I just may strip the blue and repark it.
