I just acquired a used Colt 1991a1 and want some input on which way to go.

1. Barrel bushing fits loosely in the slide. Do I replace it with a regular bushing, a National Match bushing, or find a Colt bushing with the "fingers" like my series 80?

2. I have some creep in the trigger. Do I replace the sear, replace the hammer, replace them both?

Thanks

For best results, get a reputable smith to do the fitting for you, unless you REALLY know your way around a 1911 (otherwise you'll do it a second time)

The regular or match bushing would be fine, as long as it comes from a quality company. The finger collet bushing is an inferior relic that is a collectable piece on pre-existing guns, but I would never intentionally add one to any gun due to the potential for broken fingers (I doubt anybody makes those anymore as it is).

If you can afford it, the best thing you can do is replace the internals (hammer, sear, disconnector, and trigger with quality parts of choice (Brown, Wilson, etc)

A good smith can work your sear to eliminate the creep, or replace it if it is below spec for improving.
