| Can anyone direct me to where I can find the mag well that attaches to the bottom two grip screws under the grips. Also how do you guys like them? Thanks |
| Personally, I would just save my pennies for one of the better MSH-based magwells. If you want to be able to swap it on and off without dealing with a MSH swap, go with one of the 2-piece models, as offered by Ed Brown and others. Otherwise, the S&As are great. |
| I have a Wilson Combat one, and I like it because it isn't rounded like SA or Kimbers are. The end result is a nice low profile on your 1911. Two issues you need to be concerned with - your mags will definitely need bumpers because if they sat flush before, the magwell adds a little length on the bottom. Second, you'll need grips that have cutouts for the hooks on the magwell. Wilson grips have the option I believe, but the easiest solution is the Pachmyar. Very clean looking and economical too. |

Quoted: While the 1911 that my Wilson magwell was on wasn't run hard, I don't see any glaring weak points. It securely hooks around the bottom holes of the grip screws and is tightened down further by the screws. Quality and finish were both excellent. If anyone has had one break on them, I'd be interested to know. I agree there are nicer units out there, but for the price, I think it's hard to beat.
Wilson Combat. I don't own one, but it doesn't really look that durable to me... |

Quoted: Skip the cheap Wilson. They are not durable, and they look like crap. Smith and Alexander makes the very best magwell money can buy. Ed Brown's Maxi-well isnt bad if you want a two-piece design. Quoted: Personally, I would just save my pennies for one of the better MSH-based magwells.
