I was interested in a the Dan Wesson bobtail. Has anybody had any experiences with them. Everything i read says they are great guns , but i would just like a little input on them. The only thing i don't like is that they are stainless. But other that that they seem like great guns. Any info is appreciated

Dan Wesson CBOB.....

Dont look good.....(Holy sh*t that is sexy).......

Not enough play between the slide and frame, barrel, bushing......(tight as a gnat's a$$)

Stainless sucks........(the CBOB f'in rules)

Honestly....this is my second Dan Wesson....I think they are an excellent pistol.....I'm getting ready to send this off for a few more mods to include a short STI trigger (I have small hands.....)and melonite refinish .....My other is a PM7 and I have put over 2K rounds thru it with no issues......

Is the gun reliable enough to be a daily carry weapon. Right now i carry my 5" sa gi. so weight isnt an issue

I've never had a problem with mine. I carry it quite often. Lovely gun.

My CBOB is my daily carry, I have around 1000 rounds through it so far. I did a 500 round break in with only one feed issue at around the 400 round mark with a Speer Gold Dot. I cleared it and finished the day with no other problems. Since then I've been to the range a few times with no issues, except the ammo bill.

A friend of mine has a DW Patriot (Pre CZ C-Bob) with an external extractor. Zero problems in the 300rds that I've been around when he's shot it.

About the only real issues I have ever heard of is the slide and frame galling due to the tight fit that these guns generally exhibit from the factory.

Use a very hi-quality lube on the gun during break in ( and afterward ) and you should be fine.

Make sure you break the gun down and clean it and lube it up well before your first trip to the range.

The DW is one of the only guns I would carry if I couldn't carry a Colt.
