Hey guys, I have a Ruger MKIII 22/45 and doing the grip mod (mill down the grip panels, drill and tap the frame for bushings, and put true 1911 grip panels on the .22) and I'm in the market for grip panels for it but don't know which ones to get. I've heard the VZ Operators and G10's are the best, but looking at the Operators it says the texture is very aggressive... Well I have very soft hands (try to keep them soft for the ladies) and I believe those will eat my hands up, and I don't really need such an aggressive grip for a .22 cal pistol vs the 45.

The 320's and Aliens look to fit my bill, but then again, this is just coming from the info off the vzgrips website.

Also, are the vz grips in spec with all other 1911 grip panels?? If I drill the holes on my frame using vz grips and decide to change to other grips, will the new grips fit exactly in the same position as the vz's??

If there are other grips recommended, please feel free to chime in.

Thanks

A set of uncle mikes came on mine they’re hard checkered rubber, very nice comfortable and cheap.
They also came with rubber finger grooves that go on the front but I took them off.

All my 1911s have wood grips.
