Think back to a time when U.S. exported 1911 to Brazil, not the reverse. This appears to be a Colt export to Brazil, it has the patent roll marks on the slide and "C" serial numbered commercial frame. Interesting checkered MSH and trigger. Some surface rust a wear on the slide, but overall she's in good condition

Very nice. First time I saw one of those. Where did you find it? Was it pricey?

"Brazilian Army" it says on the slide there.  Very cool.

I'm living in South American and bought this off a local police officer that didn't want it because .45 ammo is expensive. When I bought it, he only had 5rnds for his duty carry. I gave him $450, enough to buy a Taurus 38spl and two boxes of ammo.

A few months before I head back to the U.S. I'll fill out an ATF/US Customs (now Home Land Security) form 6 and hope they approve it.

If anyone has additional info on Brazilian export models I would greatly appreciate it.
