Novak Custom Shop > 1911 Discussions

Has anybody had any 1911 custom work done by Novaks? I know their sights are top notch and their custom work looks nice on the web. The prices don't seem bad and they are only about an hour from my house. Maybe I will take a trip this weekend and check his place out.

I have a 1911 from Novak, and 2 Smith Autos from them as well. Top notch work all the way.

They're on my short list of people I'd let customize a 1911.

I've been more than pleased with every bit of work they've done for me over the years.

I sent a slide to them for a sight job, several years ago. The late Joe Bonar did the work, and they were dead on when I got it back.

They put the night sights on my Kimber, and they've got one of my Hi Powers right now. The other will go to them eventually as well.

I've sent three 1911 slides to them for sights. Fast, friendly service. Wayne Novak answered the phone one time and we chatted a little while. Good folks to do business with.

They went the extra step in getting the right sights for my used USP 9mm that shot WAY low. Saved me untold irritation & all round shitstorm.

I had a Springfield Champion get the full treatment by the late Joe Bonar back in the late 90's. It was a piece of art and was my constant carry companion for years. Everyone who saw it wanted it. I traded it to another ARFCOMMER for a Wilson CQB. While I love the Wilson, I will say that Novak was the best carry pistol I ever owned.

The late Mr. Bonar did a full carry job on my Colt Combat Government. It was my duty weapon until I got out of that line. Once things are better financially, I plan on sending them a Hi Power.
