| I was watching the History Channel the other day and they had the guy from Smith and Wesson (his name slips me at the moment) shooting a 1911. He ended up bump firing the stock 1911. Had his thumb in the trigger guard and used the recoil of the gun. Neat to see. |
I can't remember the name of the show, but pretty sure it was Jerry Miceluk. To think of the fact he can also reload a revolver and put 12 shots dead center isn't bad either, considering he did it 2.98 seconds is unheard of. |
Good for a Club Fed vacation. |
Club Fed vacation? Why? The vid was obviously taken at a MG shoot. I've seen a number of legal, select-fire 1911's and clones (and HiPowers) at shoots. Legit owners are not going to show up at a public shoot with an unpapered gun. FYI, the 'smith who created full-auto 1911's for a number of 30's era badguys was from San Antonio. Similar guns have been created by backyard 'smiths in the Philippines, too. |
U Tube added info to the effect that the gun being demonstrated in the video was possibly the last 1911 full auto conversion made before the ban and it is a legal, registered, MG. |
Uh did you miss... Added: October 16, 2007 (Less info) Springfield Armory GI .45 Pistol keeps firing in two or three round bursts unexpectedly. (Problem fixed) Pistol was sent back to Springfield and repaired. No more full auto bursts :( That's from the video linked. So whatever was OBVIOUS to you didn't seem to exist in my world. The ATF has more or less cleared the way to nail a malfunctioning firearm on you as an illegal machine gun just the same as if you modified it. So again I dunno what you're talking about with the obviously at an MG shoot bit, but that was a malfunctioning 1911. The original link at the top of the post I'd agree WAS at a shoot. The one you quoted, not so much. It fires single shot for the first couple of rounds and then starts multi-bursting. |
