I am looking at a Milt Sparks Summer Special 2 and have both a govt Kimber Eclipse as well as a Pro CDP. I like to carry both depending on the day. My question is do any of you carry a 4" in a 5" holster? Does it really matter? I really only want to get one for now, and I am actually ordering a VM II for the  Pro CDP. What are your opinions?

thanks

I've used a Colt Commander in a Gov't Milt Sparks VMII.  So little of extra leather remains I would not worry about it.

In case you didn't know, Brownells stocks (only) the Summer Special II in various sizes, and sell at Milt Sparks price. Unfortunately for me, they only stock the right handed models...

I'd go for the correct length for the gun myself, but that's just me. The 5 inch would probably work fine, I just wouldn't want to carry the extra holster length without filling it with the extra barrel. YMMV.
