My two Wilson Combat 8 round mag springs took set after only 4 days of being loaded. I used them the past weekend, and they worked great and locked the slide back fine. Then a couple nights ago, after installing a new mainspring housing, I wanted to put the pistol through a simple function check. I unloaded a Wilson mag and tested using it. That's when I noticed that the springs didn't have enough tension to fully engage the slide lock. Both my springfield mags and my Chip McCormic mags engaged the slide lock fully. After this, I pulled the mags apart and stretched the springs. The stretched a little too easily, which doesn't instill my confidence in them. After this they fully engaged the slide lock. So, should I email Wilson Combat about this? Or is this really common with Wilson's mags? I was thinking about buying some new springs or maybe even a Tripp Research upgrade kit. Does the Tripp kit change the capacity? I like the 8 round capacity. Where should I get replacement springs? |
| Never had a problem with Bill's mags, when in doubt call Wolff. BTW all my match mags are Wilson. Call them and tell them what's happening, their CS is great. I use his mags in all my carry guns. They stay loaded forever and function properly. You may want to clean them and lightly lube the springs with CLP. |
Best COA here. Why pay extra to fix something that isn't right, especially with Wilson who is well known for fixing issues without hesitation. |
