A buddy of mine wants to sell his blued Combat Commander. Looks to be a 70 Series, but I'm uncertain. It's equipped with Bo-Mar adjustable sights professionally done, Wilson beavertail grip safety, Wilson ambidextrous safety, adjustable trigger (looks like STI), and the front strap is checkered - looks like 30 LPI. There are some "abrasions" and slight scratches from carry, but not bad. I would conservatively estimate around 90%+. Have any idea what they're going for? I checked gun broker, but not much to compare to there. Thank you! Bud |
Prior to 1970 all commanders had alloy frames, in 1970 Colt introduced the "Combat Commander" which had a steel frame and is MISTAKENLY referred to as a Series 70. Series 70 1911's were only produced in Government and Gold Cup Models. In 1983 Colt introduced the Series 80 guns. |
