Traded a Beretta 96G for it.

I polished the top of the chamber, and the feed ramps today, the trigger is still gritty since its only had 300 rounds through it. From what I read it will become smoother/crisp as time goes on?

First thing Im gonna do is get rid of the Full-Length guide rod, and make a custom Guide plug in my fathers machine shop.

Then ship it out to Springfields Custom shop to re-radius the frame.

I can see these things becoming similar to the BRD.

You aren't kidding.   If I were you, I'd start saving my money, for the next one, now.

 Good for you,

1911 addiction is almost as bad as BRD.

Good thought on removing the FLGR.

Overated and they bring their own set of problems to the platform.

  YMMV

I just shot it today!

Wow! a lot less recoil than the Beretta, and its extremely freakin' accurate.

I am very happy with this gun.

How are Kimber Custom II's? I think that may be coming in the near future

I love my Kimber Custom II.  Its my go to gun.  I've put maybe 1500 rounds through her without a problem.  Very Accurate.

I've had 3 different Kimbers along the way, and all of them were great guns (external extractors, no issues, despite what everyone has always said).  I have gone the way of the wartime shooters, so the Kimbers are gone.  But if I were going to get another modern gun I'd probably get a Colt or Springfield.  I've also looked at the Sig line with a certain amount of interest.  I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of the major manufacturers, but Colt seems to me to hold its value among the best (if you care about that aspect of it).

Nice first pick, BTW.

I had a Para LTC that was falling apart is two places in less than 500 rounds.  I didn't like that one.

They were both easy fixes, needed a new ejector and to replace the cruddy plastic sight on the rear, but we parted ways due to "trust" issues.  However that's one of my quirks.  Weapons that I feel fail me in any way don't stay around long.  I don't have any firearms that "only work with x, y, or z" ammo.

Other than that, I don't think I've met MANY I didn't like.
