The older ones has a lot of problems. The new ones which are stamped SIG SAUER 1911 instead of Sigarms GSR dont have as much trouble as before. Nothing being bitched about them other than cosmetic issues in sigforum.

My GSR is extremely accurate.  But it has an external extractor.  I consider it a bastard son of a 1911 at best.

Yes, it was reliable, after it broke in, I just don't like external extractors.

Hope this helps.  AK

The newer ones are and if you have extractor issues they use a HD extractor from EGW that will not break. Many people let the extractor slam onto a chambered round, so that can cause failures.

My GSR runs fine, and the accuracy is VERY good. Better than most people can shoot.

The new ones are called Sig Sauer 1911. Mine was a GSR and I had to send it back 6 times before Sig finally gave in and refunded me my money. I had the limited edition reverse two tone look. Black slide and stainless frame. Looked beautiful but just couldnt get it to run properly.

I have 3.
A GSR (full size, railed, stainless, wood grips), Wife's anniversary present.  Never jammed, unbelievably accurate.

a RCS  (officer frame, commander slide, all deslicked),  wife's carry gun.  again, never jammed, very nice (I want one now)

and a 1911 Carry Nitron (commander), which honestly I just got home and haven't even cleaned yet, but I'm not worried.

They compare very nicely with the Kimbers and Colts in the rest of the safe.
