I've got a little problem that I thought someone here might be able to advise me on... My primary carry gun is a Kimber Tactical Ultra II, that has worked well for me for nearly 4 years and about 2000 rounds. Besides cleaning, all it has needed is a change of the recoil spring until a recent course I was attending, when the tip of the ejector broke off. I contacted Kimber and told them I needed a replacement and without any questions they said they could send me one right away under warranty. I figured, it should be easy enough, it is held in with only one roll pin.

So a few days go by and I receive the part in the mail. I quickly rush out to the garage to prepare for a quick swap of part and be on my way carrying my Kimber again. But, it wasn't that easy. First a relief needed to be cut for the roll pin to fit the alignment pin. That wasn't that big of deal, just took a little more time than I originally expected.
Then, I'm faced with the problem that I'm bringing here for advice...

When I attempted to reassemble my gun I discovered that the slide interferes with the ejector or I should say it the other way around... The ejector does not sit as far inboard in the frame as my original did. So the slide will not pass the ejector.

Is there addition fitting required for an ejector or should it be pretty much a drop in part like I suspected it would be?

Any help in the matter will be greatly appreciated.

First are you sure that the ejector is sitting flush to the frame?

If so you're going to have to file down the ejector where it is contacting the slide.

Yes it is sitting flush. The height of the ejector is not the issue. It is the off set from the centerline of the frame. The contact point is between the left side of the ejector and the side of the groove in the frame.

Your gun is a .45, right?

Yes... .45 ACP
Come to think of it the guy at Kimber never asked me if it was .45 or 9mm.
Do you think that could be the difference?

Kimber says that they do have two different ejectors and one had a little more offset than the other. So, they are shipping me the other part number. It should be here in a few days then I'll know for sure.
