The 1911 has been around for almost 100 years.  Surely I'm not the only one looking at his new 1911  thinking "I can do this myself".

Anyone know of a link or instruction manual to get a decent trigger out of a gun?

Yes, you can do your own trigger job with some information and carefull work.
Doing a trigger job is not rocket science but does take carefull attention to how it's done and you'll need a few tools.  Blinkhoggs site is great.  Here's a link from Brownells that provides a lot of info on how to gunsmith your own firearms. There's a lot of info on 1911's.

If you get serious about working on your 1911 then you should get a copy of "Colt .45 Automatic: A Shop Manual by Kuhnhausen" get Vol 1 and I would also get Vol 2.

A 45 may not expand but it will never be smaller than .45!!
