Well I just ordered my first 1911. The pistol mentioned above. Toughts or experience with this pistol? I know the finish around, i think it is, the beavertail rubs off easily. Besides that?

I know, it's a bit late to ask for opinions

Hey Canuck,
I've got one coming too!
The ones I've handled felt great! Nice workmanship...slide was like magic Light and had a nice easy point.

I considered a Ranger real hard for my 2nd 1911. Very nice pistol.  My main dis-like was the huge billboard markings on the slide.
I broke my piggy bank to freak'n pieces and went with a Les Baer.
Enjoy your STI & good shooting.

Order a Chainlink MSH from Ed Brown to replace the factory MSH.

Will see to it. What wrong with the main spring housing on it?

It's plastic and checkered. The Ed Brown unit will match the frontstrap pretty well.

I've never even seen an STI in person.  For some reason the shops up here just don't carry them.

Hey, how hard is it to get a 1911 in Canada?  Do you have the availability that we do in the states?

Yeah somewhat. The more custom brands like nighthawk are a bit harder to get. We got good suppliers for springfield, S&W, Wilson and STI/SVI infinity. in addition, we have access to Norinco 1911s. They look like shit but are assembled correctly. I won't buy one on principle, and also cause i'm sort of a gun snob, but alot of people have em and they seem to be problem free and respond good to minor tweeks.
