I shot one the other day and have been smitten ever since. Terrific fit & finish and a really accurate shooter. I'm on the verge of buying it, but at around $1700 I need to research this a little bit more before I commit. Do you think I should look elsewhere for a better value? Where? MY intended uses are for shooting matches and home defense. I have other handguns that fill either role, but would like to make this 1911 be my primary go-to gun for lack of a better term. *I noticed the other S&W 1911 thread, but didn't want to step all over it. |
| My only concern would be resale value vs. other guns in that price range. Baer, Brown, Wilson. Historically the Smiths don't do as well in resale value as some. I'd hesitate to drop that much on one although I do believe they make a good product and the only Perf Center one I ever was around was a great pistol. |
