I understand the II has issues with the safety?  Is it really a problem?

If this is a dupe just please point me to the thread.

The difference between the Pro Carry and the Pro Carry II is the addition of the Swartz firing pin block to the II series. Most have no problems, some do. The Swartz style firing pin block is affected by depressing of the grip safety to elevate the firing pin block plunger allowing the firing pin to travel. Improper timing or depression of the grip safety could allow the trigger to operate allowing the hammer to fall while the firing pin is still blocked resulting in a click instead of the expected BANG.

Thanks SGB.  Can that device be easily removed?

I had a problem with the series II safety or more correctly with my grip on the gun.  Do to the shape of my hand, I didn't always get the grip safety pushed in enough to activate the firing pin.  I installed a series 70 firing pin and eliminated the problem, it goes bang every time I press the trigger now. After 2000 rds since the install there is no problem with anything dragging or any damage to the firing pin. I didn't bother to take out an of the other series II parts.

It can be easily disabled by installing an aftermarket firing pin. I put a Wilson Combat firing pin in mine.

The vast majority of users have no issues with the Series II parts, but like anything mechanical, they can be made wrong or go bad.

Installing a series 70 style firing pin will prevent the safety from functioning, but removing the parts is fairly easy.
