I am looking for a Aftermarket rail for my 1911 that does not need to be drilled or tapped.
I like the look of Springfield Operator rail that goes past the dust cover.
I am also  looking to build a .45 w/ a frame that accepts double stack mags and also a slide to go w/ the frame. I have looked for frames and aftermarket rails but I dont know whats good

Only Double Stack Frame I would buy would be STI. You could also get Para frame kit.

Slides I like Caspian, but have used Colt and STI.

Now that ive seen the prices for the double stack frames I might go w/ a normal frame. I am thinking of a compansator and am wondering how the comp mounts. I am also looking for adj. sights

Sounds like you need to find a local gunsmith too.

Skip the bushing comps, there just "for looks".  Real comps are either thread on, press on or integral to the barrel.

If I were to do a carry comp, I'd do a commander length slide and two port comp to get back to 5 inches.  Mill the front sight into the end of the comp (non trijicon) or on the slide if you want night sights.  Sights near ports get VERY dirty VERY fast.

Comp on a 45 is not worth it, not enough gas vol to make the efective. Comps work great on 38 super comp and 9mm major.
