Okay guys, I'm a newbe when it comes to 1911's. I recently purchased a black stainless SA 1911 and a coulple of Wilson mags to go with it. When I load my Spingfield mags they slide right in and seat great, but when I slide my wilsons in they will not go all the way in with out pressing the mag release button to let it pass the button. Once I do that it seats and fires fine. Is there an adjustment on the release or is that just the way those mags work. Needless to say I don't want to have to push the mag release every time I load a new mag. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

try seating the mag with a little more muscle.
if you notice a scratch forming above the magrealse cutout on the magazine you could file and reshape the magazine release some.

Don't slide them in.....slap them in.

Thanks, i tried slapping it in and it worked like a charm. I just wasn't putting enough ass behind it.

Same thing happens with my Kimber Grand Raptor. Ya just gotta "Be a Man" and slap em in!
