Looking through the Brownell's 1911 Catalog and I noticed the Mueschke ambi safety with looks a lot like a stock safety.

I like the looks of it but the 26.00 price troubles me as you get what you pay for.

Anyone familiar with Mueschke parts?

No personal experience with them, but I do recall some well-respected gunsmiths saying stay away from them, even though I can't remember the details.

If you get a good one, they work just fine.

A number of people report that the tenon and groove joint where the two halves join have a problem with breaking.

Buy it from Brownell's, and they will replace any bad ones.

As far as I know, this one is the last of the Colt type ambi safeties.
If you don't want to go with it, I recommend the King's, but BUY NOW....TODAY.
King's is reported to be closing up shop.

I really like the fact that it is the same profile as a Colt but it would be used on an occasional carry pistol so I better pass.

Thanks to all for the replies.
