I've gotta start looking around for good prices of parts now.
I want it to look like this when I'm done. It's obviously not gonna be a Springfield, I did a Photoshop of one to have a goal to shoot for.

Are they bad?
I didn't really find a whole lot on them with the little bit of looking I did pointing to good or bad.

They're better than they used to be, but their QC has never been great.

I don't have any experience with their frames, but I built three guns using their slides. they work fine. For the money they are decent. Keep in mind they are not 300-400 dollar barstock slides. They are what they are.

Yeah, with any luck and skill, your Essex will have better fit parts than most Springfields I've seen.

They may be just up the road from Caspian in Vt, but Caspian they are not.
Cast Frame is not such a huge deal, but the slide, I would like forged rather than cast.

If you wan't forged then pay for it. If you want cast, then pay for It, and if you want forged then pay more!!! Life is full of choices.
