I own a Springfield armory Mil-spec an I have $600 to spend right now an I have been looking at the GI s an i know i can get them for around $500 here, but is there anything else that any of you would recommend looking at? Thanks |

Yeah. Save your money and get something you can noticably appreciate. You have a decent production pistol now. You have money earmarked for the same class pistol (at best) at this point. All you stand to gain is another weapon that is like what you already have (which is fine if you are madly in love with your mil spec). I suggest you save and go for another class of pistol (high end production or semi-custom). If you are that impatient then you can look at a new configuration (i.e. commander size) or look dilligently within the used market and see what that might snag you. It's just that $600 is worthless to a guy who already has a working 1911 who wants a new one. |
![]() i'm sorry, but if thats mr pulpsmack in that photo haulin a** w/ a cart full of heinikins... ![]() i dont mean any ridicule or harm mr hunt4info, its just when you find out who/what that avatar is +1 on saving up for a little better 1911 |
No harm or ridicule taken...kind of interesting talking on these boards...you usually do not know with whom you are talking. I recall a former President of the USA saying in an article that he really liked a meeting technology in which those in attendance would type their thoughts on a keyboard and discuss via a projected "discussion board format" much like that here (this was a few years ago and before internet was so common) and he liked it for the very reason because he felt that others would be a little more likely to say what they really thought, to disagree with his point of view and so on because they did not know exactly who was advocating a specific point of view. Kind of interesting...like on this board...could be an experienced and battle-weary vet or a 13-year old girl. But the idea/thought is what appears in print. Sorry if my question to Mr. Pulpsmack was off target... |
I would like to read that one... |
