Yes, different ejecter, slide, barrel, magazine, etc. the best way to do a caliber change with a 1911 is find a caliber that uses the same breach face as the pistol u have.  45acp to 400 corbon, 10mm to 40sw and 38super to 9mm. these are the common slides that are particular to each caliber. Anything is possible, time and money.

If you want to have one frame for many different cailbers. You will need to have a ramped barrels installed.  This way each cal will have the right feed ramp.

same as 45 to 38 special.

Now if you only want one slide SVI sells a slide with a replaceable breechface.

Add up the costs for the parts than add some GS fitting fees.

Slide, Barrrel, extractor, ejector, firing pin, firing pin retaintion plate, sights, bushing barrel, slide release, recoil spring,

Actually the .45 acp magazine will work fine with the 10 mil! but the recoil pring will need to be stronger!

I hear it is easiest to start with a .40s&w.  You just need to have some chamber work done.
