Forgive my exuberance, but this gun has turned out better than I could have imagined. 3 months ago I came here and asked for assistance to find my first 1911 to become my full-time carry gun. Many thanks to pulpsmack for his advice which led me to my Colt S70 (I got a good one ) Following his advice and others here, I saved and planned, then went off to see the good folks at Yost-Bonitz.

Well, she got back today with the 1* Enhanced and a couple extras, polished slide flats and gold in-lay front sight blade. After a couple hours of just admiring the work done by Yobo, it was off to the range. I couldn't be happier with the advice I got here or the work done by Yost-Bonitz! Thanks to everyone for your help, espeacially puplsmack and Jason Burton

Here she is.........

Now that's a fine weapon you have there. Enjoy the hell out of it, and if you and your wallet  (perhaps after a few recuperative paychecks) are so inclined, I would conclude by suggesting a nice set of custom grips to complete the package.

Nice looking grips!

Mine are micarta from Yost, made by VZ's for them. (if I am not mistaken) Not the prettiest, but they reflect the principle of the build, performance and reliability. Maybe some pretty later though?

Nothing wrong with keeping the grips you have, which do punctuate the fact that those guns are built for business. My Wilson Combat's my CCW of choice that's all business as well, and I  haven't gone whole hog on the grips, myself. Just a thought though

How did you get a gun and have it done by YoBo in 3 months?  I just got on the waiting list and Jason told me it would be about a year to 14 months.  However you did it, good for you, beautiful pistol, and I wouldn't send mine to anybody else.

Are you having *1 package done?  Those typically do not take as long.

If you ever get a chance to even meet Jason or Ted, you should.

Got a chance to shoot with them for a bit a couple of months ago, both guys are a class act.  Very nice, extremely polite and just good all around gentlemen.

As is Chuck Rogers, who I have not had the pleasure of meeting, but we've discussed a topic or two over IM and he is another great guy in my book.

Couldn't agree more! They both made me feel like my project was important. From the very first phone calls with questions, to a visit at the shop, to dropping the gun for work and final delivery. Great guys, great work, truly good people to work with.
