i measures my slide and frame today. the frame is .621 and the slide is .757
.136 play is that with in tolerance the rest of it is still tight.

Kuhnhausen's shop manual states, "Slide/frame rail horizontal clearance - another variable measurement, and found in excess of .015". Again, ideal clearance depends on use. For general service use, best at .005" to .006" . . . "

"About Ideal Slide/Frame Fit: Adjusting to ideal, or closer tolerance, slide to frame fit, serves to maximize accuracy for a given use, but, being labor intensive and expensive to produce, is not recommended for ordinary use."

So, if it works right, and groups well, do you need to worry about what that measurement is?

Some old military blue prints for an A1 show measurements for the frame rails as .751" +/- .003" (outside), and the actual cut or inner rail measurment as .628" +/- .003". The slide is .752" +/- .005" and .629" +/- .005"

You had to have measured something wrong. You measured groove to groove or something incorrectly. There is no way it can be .136 out and not rattle like a chain unless it has been modified very, very poorly. Are you sure it's not .013. I have a Norinco thats .012 and it feels so sloppy it drives me crazy. Your fit is over 1/8 of an inch out. Way out of spec if you measured it correctly.

yes i measured it wrong. if it was .136  i think the slide would fall off  took new ones tonight on the right groves and there only out .013 not .136
