| I am fairly new to 1911 and was wondering what parts are interchangeable between the different sizes. When you look for parts most places will have two options commander or government and rarely do you find parts made for officer sized pistols. I am looking for MSH, triggers, hammer, sears, sear spring, disconnector, hammer strut, slide realease, thumb safety, ect ect...for an officer sized 1911. |

The only parts, to the best of my knowledge, which will not interchange between a Commander and a Officer model will be items which are particular to the shorter barrel and frame. Bushing, recoil guide rod, recoil springs, barrel, and the grip safety and mainspring housing and internal spring. The trigger, hammer, sear, thumb safety, barrel linkpin, slide stop, are the same. I think that the sear spring is the same, but I'm no 100% sure on that. |
