I have owned various examples of the LDA (single stack and double). Out of all the LDAs I have owned (4 total) I have never experienced a single problem with the LDA trigger system. There is nothing like a well tuned 1911 trigger, but I have to say, there is no smoother DA triggerpull than the LDA either. I am selling/trading my LDA wonder carry on the EE now. I used the same model in SHTF and it worked when it needed to. As suited as it is for CCW though, It just doesn't hold a candle to my Wilson Combat CQB Compact.

It is an interesting alternative for those who want most of the advantages of the 1911, but don't want to carry C&L. Another feature about mine that was good for CCW was that it had flush (bobbed) hammer and no beavertail (not needed since hammer bite was impossible). That made it extra concealable and less prone to snags.

I carry either a CombatMaster or my S&W 6906. Love both.. 6906 is a safe option for me as I prefer it over c&l. Want  the .45 option however. The LDA seems like a good option for me.

I have a friend who bought a LDA and initialy he loved it. However due to numerous parts breakage, notably two broken barrel bushings he ditched it and went with a Kimber Pro Carry CDP.

Seems like I recall one cannot double tap a hard primer with the LDA? One has to rack the slide to cock the mainspring?

Personally, *I* wouldn't be a fan of that system, depsite the LDA being a somewhat smooth feeling trigger.

Yes, the LDA is a DA pistol much like a Glock is. The trigger doesn't self reset, but must be cocked by the cycling of the slide. So in effect you have a SA pistol with a DA triggerpull. It's a niche pistol that serves its purpose for individuals/departments that want to reap most of the benefits of the 1911 but are squeamish about/prohibited from carrying a cocked SA pistol.

I have 2 of them, a P14 and a P13, and I love the trigger on both.  There is a long take up on them, but they always break like glass.  If you get the chance to test one, definitely do so.
