Well, I just had to brag a little as I never shot a group this tight before.  Now I wish I had more time to practice that grip, but I think I have it in memory.  We'll see during the next range session.  The rest of the 95 rounds were decent.  ( I ain't gonna show those off.

The weapon: A 1911A1 Springfield Armory Loaded 5" barrel, factory, shiny blue finish.

The distance:  About 20 feet.

The ammo:  CCI Blazer 230gr with aluminum casings

Shots fired: 5

Crosswinds:  None

Caffeine in blood:  12oz of Pepsi

I just took mine out on Sunday. Not so impressed. The first 100 rounds were patterning huge and shooting low.

Then I put the front sight above the rear sights and it got dialed in. Excellent small groups, about 16 rounds palm sized at 15 yards.

Nice!  Did you get the loaded model?  Dialing it in is time consuming, but well worth it.

I got the loaded model. Bomar sights, beavertail, etc. Only think missing is a light rail & ambidextrous safety.

About $300 off list, it is my first "high-end" 1911.

Tonight I get to figure out how to take her down.

Not bad.  Careful putting the slide stop back in when reassembing.

My 1911 is a little older.  It doesn't have an ambi safety nor an adjustable trigger, but I'm right handed and the trigger pull is just fine as is, so it's all good!

I was thinking of a Kimber Eclipse Pro, but I think I'll be staying with SA and get a Loaded Champion in SS one of these days or a Kobra Carry if I can afford it.  I was at a gunshop and saw a brand new Kimber with the slide serrations starting to rust due to customer handling.  Guess they didn't care to wipe and lube their guns every once in a while.
