Anyone have one of these? Have you been happy with them? Good value?

Have one no, almost bought one a couple times though, but I do have one of the base model Ultras.

Compared to the base model, you get a nice low matte finish, meprolights, ambi safety and magwell.  Personally I dislike magwells on carry guns, but if you have larger hands they do add a bit of length to the grip.

I do like the finish though.

I have a base model UC just like the previous poster (SS Series I).  I actually prefer my cc rig NOT to have an ambi safety.  Of course, I'm right handed, so don't really need one either.  I put on a set of trijicons and coccobola grips and called it a day with mine.  All for much less than the tactical UC would have cost me.

Not that you asked, but if I had to do it all over again, I would have gone with a 4in bbl with officer's frame.  This would be optimal.  Good luck.

I got to pick one up Saturday and went out to shoot it and was very pleased with the results I got.  The magwell is good if you have bigger hands cause it gives you a little more length on the grip and that helps me a lot.  Shoot about 100 rds and didnt have a problem. I love the gun and it will be my carry gun.

I have 3 Kimbers, not that one.  But my buddy does have that one and it's been perfect.  Although he can't out shoot my CDP 4" or my 3" either.  I'm a much better shot with 38 years of pistol practice.  Oh, most anyone will shoot a 4" better.

I bought the 4" version . The pro tactical II . It's been good so far
with about 400 rounds through it . At first the trigger was a little
stiff , but it's smoothed out considerably over the last 100 rounds .

One thing you need to watch is using steel follower mags with the
aluminum frame , because they will gouge the area below the ramp .

I have the Kimber Ultra Tactical II.  I really like the gun.  The grip is large enough to allow all your fingers to grip the pistol.  I find that muzzle flip is very controlable.  The sights are nice and bright.  The alum. frame make it a light 1911 to carry.  Also the magwell is removeable with an allen bolt if you decide you don't like it or need a lower profile.  Hope this helps

I don't have the Ultra Tac II. I do have the Tac Pro II (4") and am thrilled with it. When I move back to a state that allows CCW then I'll be getting one. I just don't have a use for that short of a barrel in the Peoples Republik of Illinois

Only an issue with CMC mags as the follower follows the round forward on the last round.

I have an Eclipse Pro II and have had VERY few issues. The only thing I have recorded in my logs on this gun was it seemed tight and not wanting to chamber reloaded rounds fully. After a few trips to the range its like a sewing machine.

I did go to all Wilson Combat mags and have never had a problem. I was warned about possible issues with the CMC

That's not quite true . Because here is the mag I was using when I noticed
the issue :

Care to guess who's name is on this mag ?
It's the mag that came with the gun

I believe Kimber was shipping CMC mags with their pistols and restamping the base-plate. At least that's what I have heard. They have since changed the follower to something that won't eat up your gun. But then again, I did get one of the ones shown when I picked up my Tactical Custom 2 earlier this year.
