What is the reputation of Para Ordnance pistols? Is the PXT extractor all its cracked up to be? Well I'll let you guys do the talking. Thanks again.

Mixed reviews.  Everything from... "It's a toliet with a cast frame"...to..."I love mine 5000 rds and running strong"  The PXT extractor is  para ordnance specific.  So if you plan on getting one buy an extra extractor and keep it on hand.

I like the price just not sold on the quality.  Check out the archives and 1911forum.
com.

Good Luck.

I've had the PO kool-aid (P-14 Limited) and I want more.  I'm looking for an LTC now.  Excellent gun.  1000+ rounds, zero malfunctions.

I've had one of their P14s for over a year.  It has never failed to function 100%.  I also have other manufacturers' 1911s, but I think Para-Ordnance makes excellent pistols.  And I think the PXT functions exactly as represented:  always extracts empty shells!

well i dont know about the new extractor but,  my p13 has had around 270,000rd-280,000rd thru it (yes its true).  i've been shooting it for the past 20 years.  i got it when i was 12 so i could shoot IPSC and its still my carry gun to this day.  just replace the mag springs every 6months or so(for carry:dbl stack) and it will last you.

just had to replace my brl this past year.
slide to frame fit is still "ok".

runs like a "raped ape" i tell you.  i've even got the vids to prove it!

little video "cutting cards"

ps: thanks for the B-day e-mail. HTF dont do that.

One of my friends has a P14 and loves it. I shot a P14 LDA that belong to a FWPD friend of mine, and ran perfect.

Thanks for the info guys its appreciated I was looking at the single stack 1911's they make something about the double stacks don't appeal to me in a 1911.

Picked up a P-14 Monday, ran 250 rounds through it.
Functioned flawlessly, time will tell I guess.
What's not to like about a Hi-cap 1911?

I got an older P14 that is flawless, I will never get off it. But I will admit, I perfer a single stack 1911 for carry. A full P14 will make my pants fall down.......,no shoulder rig.
