Is this a series 70 or series 80 internally? I am a little confused. The Series 70 Repro- well the name says it all, the XSE is a Series 80 but which one is this 1991A1 model? Thanks for your help.

Series 80.

If it's new and isn't explicitly marked series 70 or a historical repro (WWI, WWII, etc.) assume it's an 80.

Thanks guys. I was just confused cause the 1991A1 has the sights and look of the 70 repro gun. Cept for the trigger...which is longer.

In case you didn't know...

If you can get your hands on the weapon (show/shop) and nobody knows better (shouldn't happen but I wouldn't be stunned either), you can always lock the slide back and look at the exposed bottom of the slide. If there is a circular plunger visible (near the end of the slide) you are staring at part of the firing pin block mechanism of a series 80. No plunger? it's either a series 70 design or a modified 70 (swartz system)

Good advice pulp. Thanks. One guy at the gunshop said the same thing. Look for the plunger.
