Well, in my quest to make things work I have diagnosed my own issue yet again.  I am however in need of a remedy.  First, the gun works flawlessly as disigned.  Second, the .22lr conversion works flawlessly on my other gun.  However, when I put the two together, I pull the trigger, the hammer drops to half cock.

Now, being inquisitive and experimental, I proceeded to try to duplicate this with the .22 slide off of the frame.  What I found was that by putting pressure on the front of the disconnector, I could duplicate the half cock phenomena.  Putting other .45 slides on the same frame and the gun works fine. What I also noticed was a small mark at the front of the diconnector notch on the .22 slide.  The disconnector is resting against the front of the notch and its just enough pressure to cause the failure.

So, what should I do about it?  Take the disconnector down a little, or lengthen and notch in the slide.  I notice that the notch on my .45 slides are a hair longer and deeper.  I am dangerous with a dremel so help me out here.

A disconnector is by far cheaper to replace than a slide.

Two minutes and very careful use of a dremel stone and we are in business.  It seems the notch on the .22 slide is just slightly shallow.  Fine I guess for some guns, but not all.  I lowered the disconnector a hair to compensate.  Now all is well in all respects.
