I recently got a Taurus PT1911. I shot the first 50 rounds threw it last weekend and it was great. Extracted fine and everything else. Well I brought it home, tore it apart and cleaned it.

Anyways, I noticed that if I try to rack the slide to eject the shell sometimes it will go flying but sometimes it will not release from the extractor. This is just by hand. Was fine before I took it apart and everything. I don't think I damaged anything but I was wondering if this is normal for a 1911 with only 50 rounds threw it?

Slide veloicty determins ejection.

Slow round will fall down the magwell or just clear the slide.
Fast it will go about 6 inches out of the gun.

eta. is your ejector still in the frame?
