| Well after getting the Kimber 22 kit for my new toy (Springfield TRP) I have found that there's one small problem. The Kimber magazine will not fit into the mag well of the TRP. The base plate on the mag has a different bevel. So doe's anybody have any idea who make a 22 magazine for a TRP??? |

You must be talking about the lip on the bottom of the magazine. You may have an out of spec magazine. The Springfield uses the same dimensions as most (if not all) 1911's out there. I would call Kimber, see if they would be kind enough to exchange magazines with you to correct the problem. Have you tried to put the magazine in any other 1911 to see if it fits? Bob I have a question, is the Kimber setup made of carbon steel now or aluminum? |

Well after calling Kimber today and talking to the custom shop they told me that YES, they are aware of the Kimber mag NOT fitting the older TRP springfield. And that I had two choice's. #1 To look for another mag. to fit my TRP. Or #2 " Welcome to the world of Custom fit " Yes, they told me to get a file and make this one fit to the TRP mag. well. And that they would and could take the pistol and do it in there shop. But most likely I could do it myself. So thats what I did, And yes it shoots great. Yes this upper is of Carbon steel, With a carbon fiber magazine. After getting it to fit I shot about 100 rnds. threw it tonite. And was very happy with the groups it held. The Kimber kit is very smooth And on top of this TRP its like my new best friend. I'm going to hit the indoor sunday, And try all the ammo I can find to see what it won't like. |
| I got mine from our local Gander Mountain. It was on clearance for $279.99, Midway has them for $ 289.99. The only thing was the Kimber magazine needing to be fit to my TRP. But that was no big deal. After shooting it today there was NO ammo it would not shoot. Even the Fed. that my Ruger Mark III wouldn't shoot will run throught this set up. I'm very happy with it. |

The Kimber is the ceiner conversion kit. Yes there very good. Mine shoots very well i just wanted the Kimber name on mine in case it need to be fit to my frame. Kimbers custom shop is a good place to have that done since there name is on the slide. Mine was not in need of any of that. Your choice. They are both worth the cash. |
