| Can anyone tell me what are the most common cause of "stove piping". I have a Colt Gold Cup NM Series 70 with a Wilson barrel and comp. I also have the solid guide rod installed. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks. |
Wouldn't that be considered a failure to eject? I have always considered a stove pipe for a 1911 is when the nose of a live round is caught outside the breach, resembling a stove pipe. Either way, weakest link in the 1911 is the magazines. Try different mags, have someone check your feed lips on the mags you have now, if they are bent out of spec, would cause the problem you are describing. |
