Hi   guys - a buddy of mine just picked up a SS Colt 1911A1 brand new in the box at a local gun dealer for $725.00.  He asked me if it was a good price. It has been so long since I bought one i don't know - but it sounds good to me???

what do you all think??

if it's a NRM 70, then HELL yes.  If it's a NRM 80, then yes.

The price is fair to really good, depending on some variables.

If it's a new production series 70 reissue, he got one hell of a deal. If it's a new production series 80 he did fine. If it's an unsold 1991 in stainless... well,

Its not one of the reissue 70s. I don't think its a new issue 80. It sounds like a 80 series post enhanced commander. the roll marks indicate 1911A1. it has the standard thumb safety, drop in med rise beavertail and the high profile sights of the enhanced model.
It doesn't say 1991 on it so i'm not sure exactely what he got?? He put it in lay away so he doesn't have pics. Any ideas?
