I know this is stupid but what do you think looks the best on my SW 1911?  I'm partial to the 320s in red and green and probably the square bottoms:

1.) 320 square bottom green black linen

2.) 320 square bottom red black linen

3.) 320 green black linen

4.) 320 red black linen

5.) vz diamondback black paper

6.) gator back 2 bottom finished black canvas

7.) vz 320 finished black canvas micarta

8.) vz operator black paper micarta

9.) black paper micarta

10.) gator back 2 bottom red black linen

87.) Pachmayr Wraparound (with medallions)

3-4-1-2 In that order.

Green beats red on the dark finish, round beats square (It just bothers me not to see the mainspring rollpin). the pistol is SS, you must go w Red or black.

Not bad looking at all.

I'm partial to #2 and #10, or you can use the black Davidson Horned Lizard grips I have in the EE :)

I agree.  I'm thinking about getting a magwell though so that's why I ordered the 1st 4 that way...

Go with the Diamondbacks. GREAT grips IMO.
Just grippy enough without being painful.
YMMV

It's a sad day when noone has criticized my photoshopping skills...

Thanks for your input so far...

That sorts flies on a Kimber but not on a blue gun...

So change colors.  I was posting more for the TYPE of grips I prefer.  I couldn't care less about the color...it's the texture and shape that makes me love these grips so much.

yours look melted/worn, are they?  Are they just the paper as opposed to linen or canvas?

I guess they must be paper because the color is so uniform...

No idea.  I think they're Canvas.  They're exactly the way they came.  Might just be the picture.

I have shot a few thousand rounds through the gun with them on there, though.

No way, too solid and consistent to be canvas.  Got to be paper...  I can't see any fabric in them at all...

They must be "Black green linen" from looking at VZ's website.

I just wish I could remember.

I'm thinking "paper" of some sort.

To me the green linen looks the best.  Don't really care if the mainspring housing pin shows or not, but unbeveled grips are generally not comfy.
