Ok I did it I used to be a 1911 man but than defected to Glock now I'm back bought 2 Kimbers CDP and a Warrior and now I need to get good ammo and magazines.  What mags should I pick up and which is the best ammo for these? Self defense of course.

Myself and many others swear by Wilson Combat 8 round mags. As far as defense ammo goes, i carry 230gr hydra shoks. Be shure to shoot around 500 rounds of FMJ through those two kimbers before shooting hollow points to get get em broke in.
Oh and welcome back

YOU HAVE YOUR ANSWER. Hydrashoks/HST and Wilsons. I tried some Speer Gold Dots, but I have had some bullets pushed back into the casing with use. My Hydrashoks were carried and cycled 3 years without being pushed in,

I use both Wilson and McCormick mags.  Both have worked equally well for me through four different 1911's over the last 7-8 years (two Kimbers, two Colts); have never had a single malfunction with either brand.  The only difference being Wilson mags cost two-to-three times as much.

While I do like hydrashocks in .357, I don't care for them in .45 acp.  I carry Gold Dot 200 gr. +P.  I've been using those loads for going on five years with no problems whatsoever.

As long as you choose a premium load (and you do your job if necessary), I don't think it will make much difference whether you're sporting Ranger SXT, Gold Dots, Hydrashocks, etc.

Try a few brands to find a load that has a recoil impulse you're comfortable with, that is reliable and accurate in your chosen pistol, and you're set.
