Can a 38 super be converted to a 9mm with just a barrel and mag change?

9mm 1911's are hard to find(at a low price.)

I am looking at a Springfield 9mm 1911 which is only available in SS.

Any suggestions?

just a barrel chage will be needed. I use 38 super 10 round mags for my home built 9mm. these work with FMJ. I do not know if they will work with some HP.

Kimber makes a Pro Carry II in the 9mm. I picked one up a couple of months ago and really like shooting it. Accurate and lightweight with the alloy frame. What's nice is that it is the same 1911 platform that I shoot all the time in 45. JD
