I have already taken my 1911 government model to the gunsmith two times but I still have a problem with ejection. At first I was getting hit in the head an face with the ejected rounds. Now the cases hit off my forehead or go inbetween my arms. Any suggestions or comments.

Yeah... find a new gunsmith.  This should be an easy fix.

Sounds like an improperly tuned extractor. If your gunsmith can't fix this...
RUN!!!! Run far, far away from him and never, ever look back. Honestly, this is one of the most common things that needs to be done on a 1911. Any person calling themselves a 1911 "gunsmith" should be able to fix this. It's simply a matter of bending the extractor to the right tension so that it doesn't fling the casings at you, or not at all.

also look at the ejector.

The ejector and extractor should both be adjusted and dressed to change ejection...

Is the brass dented at all? It could be trying to come out sideways, but if you haven't lowered the ejection port, it could be bouncing off of that and heading straight backwards.

There's a bunch of books (and even web sites) that detail what changes should be made to an extractor and ejector to "tune" ejection the way you want it. It's fairly easy, assuming you have some good files/stones and are patient..

As others have said..if your gunsmith can't figure out or fix the problem...you might need to start investigating other smiths.

Before everyone criticizes your gunsmith, I have a Kimber Pro Carry II that does the exact same thing.  Our very own SGB put his talented hands on my ejector & extractor, and it worked great for about an hour.  Then it went back to poking me in the forehead every few rounds.  Prior to that, it had been worked on by Virgil Tripp.  That's two people I trust a lot around a 1911, and yet the problem remains.  I've never cared enough to send it off to a third party, but I know the frustration of having every fifth casing come flying back at your forehead.

I'd like to know a bit more about your setup, Tyger.  Who is the maker, what is the model, and does it have an internal or external extractor?
