Hey,
I am trying to go with a silencer set up for my Kimber TLE RL II 5 inch.  I wanted to get the Gemtech Blackside silencer for it, which of course requires an extended barrel.  Gemtech says on their website that it is the customer's repsonsbility to get the extended barrel and Gemtech would thread the barrel to fit the silencer.  I was wondering if anyone has any good sources for getting en extended barrel that *could* be threaded.  Any help on this at all would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, From the Brownell's site, I was trying to look for a KART barrel and somehow I missed it, what is that one exactly?  Also I want a barrel that is ramped right?  SInce that Kimbers all have ramped barrels, or am I wrong here.  Anyway can you give me more info on the site, sorry I dont have the greatest vocab when it comes to guns.  Thanks alot though for putting me in the right direction, I would have never found that site!  Thanks again guys.

If you already have a ramped barrel in your Kimber, then yes, you will need a ramped barrel.

You will need to find out what ramp your barrel has, either a Wilson/Nowlin or a Clark/Para.

Call Kimber and ask their Tech guys what ramp is your barrel.

IIRC, the only Kimbers that have factory installed ramped barrels are the Ultra models; all others come with non-ramped barrels. I went with 6" Kart barrel for my setup, but haven't had it fitted yet.
