I happened across this grip maker, and thought his stuff looked awesome. Perhaps someone has mentioned this company before, but if not, check them out. www.jackashcustom.com/grips.html |

Have you guys scoped out Hakan Pek's work. The CZ guys really like them, and he does 1911 grips as well now. I have never seen anything but satisfied customer posts on the CZ boards. Hakan Pek DaddyDett |
I have sent him a couple of inquiries in e-mail, clearly stating that I'd like to buy his grips, asking prices for specific types etc. but haven't received any reply from him But I guess those customers he chooses to serve, whatever his criteria may be, are satisfied. |
| from what i've heard he's a little hard to get a hold of, but everyone seems to be pleased with his product. i think that he's one of those people that you have to bug and bug to get it done. also, a lot of people forget that he makes grips for fun in his spare time; it's not his main means of making a living. |

For those that know me, you'll know I rarely have anything negative to say about someone. I went through a couple month period trying to reach Pek for grips ona special custom project. I was polite, complimentary of his work, and detailed in my explanation. All I needed was some simple 1911 grips. After numerous e-mails I gave up. At the same time, I saw people posting here and at the CZ forum about grips they got from him. He may be a great guy, he might ravel all over, and he might do this in his spare time. I also can relate to getting a lot of e-mails and IMs and not remembering to answer every one of them. However, I try to respond to everyone that contacts me at least once, even if just to say that I'm busy and will gt back to them. I have a full time job that has nothing to do with 1911 smithing, but answering people's questions is just common courtesy. When you have a beautiful website like his, you're going to get a lot of inquiries. What's the point if you blow of potential customers and leave a bad taste in their mouth? Anyway, I'm off on a tangent. I have no hard feelings towards the guy, but was simply agreeing that he is hard to contact. It that much more frustrating to see his more than one set of his grips going to others when you desparately a pair. For those of you that have good expereinces with him, I'm happy for you. For me, my next door neighbor, and a couple off friends, it's been nothing but a big blow off. |
