OK....after much internal debate, fingerfucking of a Glock 36, and other cogitation, an Ultra Raptor II followed me home today.  I immediately removed the grips and replaced them with my customary finger-groove Hogues, but other than that no mods have been made.

Fit and finish is very good.  Not as nice as my Wilson CQB, but nicer than my Springfield Loaded.

This little fucker is TINY.

Range report tomorrow.

I have one...it's a bit punishing

But, it runs like a raped ape, accurate, and reliable.

I can't really go through more than 5 or 6 mags at the range before I need to put it away cause it starts causing me to flinch...

A shoot-all-day range piece it ain't, but a light carry gun that'll hide easy and do the job and then some, it's perfect.

OK - it shoots great, but I didn't know it had that damn Swartz safety setup.  I don't trust that shit.  If I can't get past it, I see a CQB Compact in my future.

It's not that bad

I only notice it when taking it down...unlike other methods, it doesnt interfere with the trigger pull.

Yeah, but when it shits, it doesn't give you any warning.  One day, you just get a click instead of a bang.  I have to trust a carry gun 100%, and that system just isn't gonna do it for me.

How does it break? I mean, it seems like a pretty KISS system.

Thumb safety pushes up rod with lets firing pin move...?

Is it that fragile? Certainly doesn't seem so...

If you don't like the FP safety, just replace the firing pin with a Series 70 firing pin.  End of Problem!!

A 45 may not expand but it will never be smaller than .45.

It goes out of time and doesn't release the firing pin before the hammer hits it.  It's a known problem.  I ditched the thing for a CQB Compact, so it ain't my problem any more...

yup...

schwartz safety is bad, even though the series 80 may add a little poundage to the trigger, you know if you pull the trigger it will go bang.

Wow, really? I didn't know that

*Sigh* guess I'll start looking for something like it, but with just a straight 1911 system in it, no S80 or Schwartz stuff..
