I recently joined these forums as an avid lover of firearms and a proud 1911 owner, only to find a travesty against the 1911 community.  Why has no one demanded that Wilson have their own forum section?  I mean come on, kel-tec and Kahr and even Luger have their own forums.  Wilson deserves their own spot, being one of the top 3 1911 makers of the day and age, IMHO.

Also, I believe their past has proven them to be worthy of their own spot, simply due to their sterling reputation and use by a great deal of professionals and champions of pistol craft.

As this is my first thread, I felt I should start a thread that shows who I am and what I am about.  Serious pistol shooter with a love of John Moses Browning and all things he created.  Thank you for reading, you may now feel free to ignore this thread or do as you please.

Maybe because their are not enough people to make a wilson forum active........

even m1911.org has a very small wilson combat base/active forum.

Wilson's are tip top, but they're very expensive.  Not everybody can afford one.  You'd have two guys in the forfum going:

"Hey."

"Hey."

"Just you and me again, eh?"

"Yup."

::crickets::
tumbleweed blows by

"So, how was your weekend."

"Eh, pretty good.  Yours?"

"Laundry."

"Eh."

"Alright, man.  I gotta go rearrange my socks."

"Cool, man.  I'm gonna run and sharpen my lawnmower blades."

"Cya."

"Cya."

What, that bastard child of two lovers, Wilson and Les Baer?  I took my buddy in to buy a CQB last month, and the fucker walks out with a brannew night hawk custom...... They are preemo though.  I still think that they are too young trying too much too fast.  I will wait for a year and re-evaluate their stock.  So far though, they have top notch 1911s.  Really sweet.  A Wilson is still better.......

Whether they make it or not is entirely up to the gun store owners that sell them.  Alot of gun stores I have seen can't afford to sell wilson stock, Les Baer stock, or even Ed Brown stock.  Let ALONE Nighthawk stock, the company that DEMANDS that in order to be a NIGHTHAWK dealer, you HAVE to sell three guns a month, and always have 4 on show.  Thats a little bit snobbish for an up and comming gun company/maker, I think anyway.

I don't think snobbish is the word i would use to describe it..................Remeber that these are hand built and they are just starting out.................................They just want to make it.........They only put out 6 pistols a week....................I own one and am far far from being a snob............I am a beer and lazy boy kind of guy............Well we will see there future..................I prodict good things...........................Long live the NIGHTHAWK and all 1911's of the world

Larry Vickers and Hilton Yam seem to disagree, but what do they know?

As the owner of a small gunshop, I will tell you that stocking min. in my opinion is snobish.  I believe you should be able to get a BETTER discount if you stock more, but to force a dealer to stock a min. in order to sell the product at all...well...I can tell you I wouldn't do it if I could.  Although this does not make those that purchase these firearms a snop, not was that stated earlier in the thread.

You would further think a small company starting out would take money from whomever would pay the price.

Wilson has a stocking program too, but a dealer can still buy at a slightly higher rate for a single gun order.  So will Les Baer.

I am not sure they are looking at the big picture far enough down the road....but I do like what I see.  There is no knocking of their product from this person.
