Attempting to install a slide on a PO frame. The lowermost area of the front of the slide (where the recoil spring plug is held) is hitting the front most area of the frame when slide is installed. Now I would think that I should just remove a small amount of metal from the slide. Just enough to allow it to clear. It would only be a small amount +-.003 on either side. But before I start, I just wanted to get the opinion of you guys. I was also wondering about the slide. Supposed to be new, it has no markings whatsoever. The top is some type of ugly rough finish that really just looks like it galled when it was machined and the front face (business end) of the slide has a rough final machining and thin bluing. Other than that, it looks pretty good other than a lot of handling marks. I was just wondering if you guys might know the slide mfg. I can post a pic if you would like to see it. Thanks, instr8 |
