just picked up the pony yesterday and have been buying parts for the last couple months.  I know its a series 80 but I'm going to get rid of that junk.

Well, God bless him, Hobbs tried to teach a retarded dog a new trick.  I brought the new pony and my parts box over to his place and he schooled me on how to do a trigger job.  About half way through the day it looked like this....

John had to fix an "oops" I created filing the relief cut on the sear and another one on the hammer where the sear makes contact (I forget what it's called).  But after several long hours of him putting up with me we were able to do the following:

install grieder long trigger, Nowlin sear, STI spur hammer, Wilson extended ejector, Ed Brown extended thumb safety and slide stop, wolf spring kit, get rid of all the series 80 stuff and  an MGW barrel bushing and S&A mainspring housing.

This is what it looks like now:

Still to go are Heinie sights and a Wilson Combat Extractor.

Why do people get so hung up on series 80 parts.  Colt's system works. I have 3 with and 1 without and I can not feel a diff.  But then all of mine are carry weight triggers.
