I've been eyeing the .460 Roland conversion Brownell's has...idly. I haven't been able to find ballistics info on it or such... How much energy? Comparable to, to the layman, would be..? Is it worth the $275 Brownells wants for the barrel and such? The barrel comes with a comp which leads me to believe it's got a signifigant amount of pressure behind it...and probably not a great carry gun ![]() Just looking for more info on it, and if it's a worthy buy or not... |

Search on it over at m1911.org. several people have asked the same thing over there. General concensus among the few who know anything about it is that it's nice, but not something to put on a carry gun. One guy stated that after using his regularly for a while, his original slide was very loose on the frame because it had been battered so much. I like it, but I would like to hear more about it before I spend my hard earned money. |

Here'sMy post on it. It has some basic ballistic data. Unless you get the discount at Brownells, you can find them for a bit cheaper. There are some on auction on ebay for $260 plus shipping. I'm still planning to get a kit, but have some other things ahead of it as far as projects go. Maybe for Christmas!! |
